Brule's most productive pool, Jack Louis is a holding pool as well as a spawning pool. Jack Louis is the king of our water and one of the top three producers on the entire river.

Composed mainly of ledging throughout the pool, Jack Louis is a classic salmon pool with riffles at the top, stretching down to a large deep hole in the bottom. Jack Louis is responsible for 30% of our hook-ups and can be waded as well as fished from the boat.

Jack Louis produces in all water types, high or low, June through September. The record fish for the river, a 45 lb brute was taken out of Jack Louis in 1905. We still see a few in that range every year and quite a few in the 20's and 30 lb class.
